HOTELS:
The ongoing oil boom makes Carlsbad a tad tricky hotel-wise. Rooms can be pricey, but there are a LOT of hotels in town. If you're shopping, look towards the South side of town, as you will be closer to the range.
Air BnB and VRBO:
The upside to an ongoing oil boom is the number of Airbnb and VRBO properties in the area. A quick search can show several options for your group to book for the shoot. Prices are reaasonable for the most part.
RV Parks:
If you prefer a few amenities over and above dry camping the Carlsbad RV Park is your best bet for a few nights stay. They are located at 4301 National Parks Hwy which is pretty handy to the range. Give em a call for a reservation 575-885-6333.
There are others in the area, but we've found Carlsbad RV to be the better choice for short stays. The KOA is WAY north of town, about 45 minutes to the range, so it doesn't quite fit the bill.
